Updated: 12 Ways to Celebrate Father’s Day in Memphis 2019

Showing the people we love most just how much we appreciate them is so important. Whether it’s a father, uncle, grandfather, brother, or anyone who stepped in and showed up when you needed someone, celebrate this Father’s Day by spending time in the Grind City with that special father figure in your life. Check out our list of special events going on the weekend of Father’s Day!

Have an ultimate Memphis Father’s Day weekend by celebrating at the one and only Graceland! With live music from Don McLean and Boz Scaggs alongside hands-on grilling lessons from Memphis’ very own Ernie Mellor, you’ll be sure to get your fix of good music and tasty food. Relax with whiskey tasting and hand-rolled cigars. Packages start at $140.

Now here’s a sweet idea: Spend some quality time together trying your hand at cookie decorating. For $15, you get to decorate four Father’s Day themed cookies. Cookies, icing, and sprinkles are provided as well as complimentary tea.

Honor fallen Memphis and Shelby County first responders this Father’s Day by attending the Our Fallen Heroes Foundation annual motorcycle ride fundraiser. The ride will consist of a Five Card Poker Run, live music, door prizes and more. Tickets are $25.

Explore your artistic side for Father’s Day at a paint party with local artist Maya Monét. Maya will be giving painting tips, tricks and techniques for everyone to learn! Beer will be offered for adults. Tickets are $30.

Sure, every place that serves brunch will be serving brunch on Father’s Day but you could take dad to the mother of all brunches at Owen Brennan’s. The buffet has breakfast favorites, made-to-order omelets and waffles, Southern-style meats and veggies, and loads of fruits, salads, cheese, smoked salmon, pastries, and desserts. If they don’t have it out there, he probably doesn’t need it. They are now taking reservations, so make yours today!

Spend the day exploring Memphis Botanic Garden with a scavenger hunt and other family-friendly fun. Dads get in for free.

Honor your favorite goofball by running around Railgarten’s Nerf Battle Brunch. Safety glasses, Nerf guns, and ammo will be provided. It’s $10 to play and dads play for free with the purchase of a ticket for kids. To receive extra ammo, purchase your tickets early!

Immediately following the Nerf Battle Railgarten will present Dadstock 2019, an afternoon of live music featuring “Dad Bands” 40 Watt Moon Turnstyles, Sterograms, and others. No cover for music.

If the special man in your life is a sports fan, spend the afternoon cheering on your Memphis Redbirds. There will be complimentary ice cream when you enter and pregame autographs. End the game by watching the kids run the bases!

Keep it casual and treat dad to a laidback afternoon at Loflin Yard. Order a brisket plate or the sausage and cheese while you play free bingo. Pops gets an extra card.

Spend Father’s Day with good music and good company by seeing The Bluff City Backsliders at Levitt Shell for free. There will be food trucks and beverages for sale, or you can pack a picnic of their favorite things.

Treat the special man in your life to an upscale dinner inside the Peabody Hotel at Capriccio Grill. The $54 tickets include a three-course meal with a Jack Daniels-inspired dessert as the finale. Reservations are required, so call today to book your spot!

There’s a new, free live music series taking place this summer at The Grove on Mud Island River Park presented by We Are Memphis. On Father’s Day, you can enjoy a seamless blend of gospel, jazz, and R&B courtesy of Tonya Dyson. It’s family-friendly and you can bring snacks, blankets, lawn chairs, and the like.
